2009 World Fantasy Award nominations announced

Is is really August already? I still have so much to do from 2008...

The good news this month is that the World Fantasy Award nominees are announced. Two nods for Tachyon:

Steampunk, edited by Ann and Jeff VanderMeer for Best Anthology (and for the forthcoming second (and third?) volumes.

And Jacob Weisman for Special Award, Professional. Disclaimer: I happen to know Jacob pretty well. And he really deserves it.

Peter S. Beagle was nominated for "Uncle Chaim and Aunt Rifke and the Angel," which was collected in We Never Talk About My Brother, and for his collection Strange Roads. Nominations also went to Ellen Datlow, John Kessel, and Kage Baker. Congrats and good luck to *all* of the nominees (I'm supposed to say that, right?).
