Book Launches, Author Events, and Reviews, Reviews, Reviews

It's a hit! Here we have even more excellent reviews for The Uncertain Places.

From BoingBoing:

Goldstein fearlessly rubs the dreamlike logic of fairytales up against stark realism, and each one makes the other more real. The fairyland we visit from time to time has the perfect mix of terror and beauty, and the story rips along at such a pace that I finished it in a day and a half, at the expense of many prior commitments.

From Shelf Awareness:

Lisa Goldstein is back and at the top of her game.

Additionally, this Saturday June 11th, SF in SF is celebrating the launch of The Uncertain Places, as well as the launch of Nick Mamatas's two new books, Starve Better, a fun yet brutally honest guide for the career writer, and Sensation, the story of a woman who falls out of reality and into the Simulacrum.

Goldstein and Mamatas (a.k.a the Nihilistic Kid) will be reading from their books, followed by a Q&A. As always, doors and cash bar (all proceeds to Variety Children's Charity) open at 6, event begins at 7, so if you're in the San Francisco Bay Area--or just really committed to excellent reading--come on down!
